Sam Patterson, a UFC rookie who lost his debut in a brutal way, tried to wrestle with referee Marc Goddard.
On Saturday night, Team Crossface’s ace made his much-anticipated debut in the octagon during the UFC prelims.
Patterson began the match well, but was soon on the floor after Yanal Ashmouz slammed him with a left hook.
Ashmouz, an Israeli, made no mistakes with his golden opportunity. He threw hammer after hammer until referee Marc Goddard finally stopped the fight.
After waking up, a dazed Patterson mistakenly thought that Goddard was Ashmouz.
Goodard, a Brazilian jiu jitsu practitioner, managed to hold off the dazed Patterson until the cageside officials as well as the doctor finally got him.
He still did not have his wits and had to be restrained by his corner as he tried to reach Goddard.
MMA Fans were worried about Patterson’s safety after the brutal knockout.
He responded to their concerns by writing: “I’m okay, it’s a part of the game.”
“Got caught and paid the price.” “Respect to my opponent, and I will be back very soon!”
Ashomouz’s biggest career win and his perfect octagon debut made him ecstatic.
He said, “The fans were louder because my opponent is from here.”
They’re all going to be there.
“But it doesn’t make a difference because the crowd won’t help when you are in the cage, and the door closes.
“I don’t really care about it.”
“The overhands are very effective against tall guys. Most of the time, I fight taller guys than myself. I’m used it since I’m the smaller one.
“The guy had gone, man. He was moving around a bit before he ate these shots, but each shot that I landed opened his face.
Why not stop it if the referee had the power to? It’s up to him, he’s the referee. I’ll go until I win.
